However, I do have utility stocks and I bought them when they were affected by rising interest rates. I understand that with the rise in interest rates, that people perhaps look toward other sectors in the market. To me, they seem to be at a very attractive price. (Canadian Utilities, algonquin, emera, fortis). I would like to purchase perhaps two of these for a long term hold. In your opinion, is this a bad idea with rising interest rates?
