Trustworthy Finfluencers

There is an interesting article on Money Sense on How to find trustworthy finfluencers—plus, 5 to follow right now.

I know what my biases are. I really like dividend growth Canadian stock. I tend to keep away from resource stocks, although I note that Money Sense dividend list has a few. I am currently following only Canadian stock. I have in the past invested in Mutual Funds (ETFs are basically mutual funds, but on the stock market), US and other foreign stocks and bonds. I sold my last foreign stock in 2017 (Barclays PLC) and sold my last bonds that year also.

I thought I could look at the influencers recommended and get investing ideas, especially Canadian stocks to invest in. Got no investing ideas at all. But maybe I do not understand Finfluencers. Of the influencers suggested, I like Financial Nirvana Mama the best.

The article does give some good advice. However, before you invest, investigate what you want to invest in. Do your own research. However, there are people I like better. They are the guys from Stock Trades and Robin R. Speziale YouTube

I personally do not have any cryptocurrencies. I cannot be bothered with them. However, I see their worth and I do not think that crypto is just fraud. If you read history, humans in the past have used all sorts of things for money. Note that all currencies have something in common. If people accept something as a currency and believe it has value, it has value. If people do not accept something as a currency and believe it has no value, it has no value. Currencies can lose value overnight. What comes to mind is Venezuelan currency.

On my other blog I wrote yesterday about Exco Technologies Ltd (TSX-XTC, OTC-EXCOF) ... learn more. Next, I will write about AGF Management Ltd (TSX-AGF.B, OTC-AGFMF) ... learn more on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 around 5 pm.
