One of things I noticed when I stopped working at a full time regular job was that I missed my weekends. It turns out that weekends were special to me and still are. When I was working, weekends meant a change of pace, a change in routine, a break in my normal schedule. Without weekends, one day just melts into another and all days all the same. It is hard to know what day it is.
When I realized I missed weekends, I decided the thing to do was to change my routine for the weekends and do something different and distinctive on the weekends. The same thing happened with the lockdown. My son lives with me and we, of course, been spending time together. I am lucky to be living with someone than being alone.
My son and I are going for walks each day and picking up groceries, plus having dinner and watching something on the TV, although TV is not like it used to be what with Netflix and YouTube etc. So, on the weekends, I run Zoom meeting with my friends. We order in rather than cooking, then we are watch movies on these nights either ones we have or via Netflix or renting on YouTube. So, I again have a semblance of weekends.
However, I will be so glad when the lockdown is over and life can get back to whatever out new normal will be. Although something is starting to happen. I agreed to meet a friend for coffee. Some coffee shops are open at the door now for orders and we can do the social distancing thing seating in a park.
