I want to talk about stocks I have had for the long term. This is basically what I have been talking about. Buy good companies and keep them.
The next one to talk about is Leon's Furniture (TSX-LNF, OTC-LEFUF) which I first bought in 2006 for my Trading account and my RRSP Account. I made additional purchases for both these accounts. I have made 8.86% per year with 5.85% from capital gains 3.01% from dividends.
This stock has a moderate dividend yield of 3.64% currently. I have data on this company going back 35 years and during that time they have increased the dividends 20 times. There have been no decreases. Dividend increases are low (below 8%) at 5.06% over the past 5 years. The last dividend increase was in 2024 and it was for 11%. For my latest blog entry on this company in April 2024, click here.
This has been a good investment for me as it has done well over the long term. It may not be the sort of stock that comes to mind when you want to invest, but it has been a solid investment.
On my other blog I wrote yesterday about Wild Brain Ltd (TSX-WILD, OTC-WLDBF) ... learn more. Next, I will write about Keg Royalties Income Fund (TSX-KEG.UN, OTC-KRIUF) ... learn more on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 around 5 pm.
